  • Description

France will grant aid to the Ivory Coast worth 1,031,300,000 CFA France (about 1,718,000 sterling), to be spent mainly on television teaching techniques, under an agreement signed in Abidjan on Tuesday (17 October).

The agreement was signed by M. Abdulaya Kone, the Ivory Coast Secretary of State for the Budget, and M. Serge Morette-Bourny, chief of the French Mission for Aid and Co-operation.

The agreement details the eleven projects on which the money will be spent. Most cover the completion of a television education scheme in the Ivory Coast and the training of teachers to operate it.

Other projects include the development of a medical analysis laboratory, a town planning study in Abidjan and a survey to build a road west from San Pedro as part of the development of the south-west of the Ivory Coast.
