    GHANA'S WOMEN'S SOCIETY FOR PUBLIC AFFAIRS HELD A RECEPTION AT THE ACCRA TECHNICAL TRAINING CENTRE LAST SATURDAY IN HONOUR OF MRS. JUSTICE ANNIE JIAGGE, A HIGH COURT JUDGE.

    THE RECEPTION WAS HELD TO SHOW APPRECIATION AFTER MRS. JIAGGE'S EFFORTS TO PROMOTE WORLD PEACE AND INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING, AN EFFORT THAT WON HER THE SECOND GIMBEL INTERNATIONAL AWARD.

    THE AWARD, CONSISTING OF A CHEQUE FOR GBP1,900 (STERLING), A GOLD MEDAL AND AN ILLUMINATED SCROLL, WAS PRESENTED TO MRS. JAIGGE RECENTLY IN PENNSYLVANIA, U.S.A.

    MISS ANGELA CHRISTIAN, VICE PRESIDENT OF THE SOCIETY, WELCOMED MRS. JAIGGE, AND MISS SUSAN BOAHENE PRESENTED HER WITH A BOUQUET OF FLOWERS.

    SPEAKING AT THE RECEPTION THE PRESIDENT OF THE SOCIETY, MRS. MERCY FFOULKES-CRABBE, SAID THAT GHANAIAN WOMEN WERE PROUD OF THE HIGH COURT JUDGE'S ACHIEVEMENTS, AND URGED HER TO CONTINUE HER VALUABLE WORK.

    IN HER REPLY MRS. JIAGGE EXPRESSED HER GRATITUDE TO HER TEACHERS IN HER EARLY LIFE. SHE SAID GHANAIAN WOMEN SET THE RACE FOR HARD WORK. SHE WAS ONLY LUCK, SHE SAID, THAT AT THE TIME OF THE AWARD THE STAR OF GHANA HAD SHONE BRIGHTLY.
