  • Description

In the French Riviera fishing and holiday village of Villefranche the French Prince of Bourbon of Parme, brother in law of ex-King Michael of Romania, married a Paris art expert and retoucher Mademoiselle Karina Gacry May 9. They chose for their wedding in church the Chapel of St. Pierre a noted tourist attraction for French artist and poet Jean Cocteau's recently - finished frescoes.

The couple earlier held their civil marriage in Paris. Among the guests at the religious ceremony were the Prince's father Prince Rene of Bourbon of Parma and his mother, Princess Margaret of Denmark and the bride's parent and brother.

The couple before entering the Chapel walked across a threshold of fishing nets laid down according to local custom by Villefranche fishermen. Wellwishers waved as the bride-to-be enter on the arm of her father. After the service the bridegroom and bride walked arm in arm from the Chapel. Handfuls of rice thrown by wellwishers showered upon them. With a local police escort they walked through the village on their way to a restaurant for the wedding feast.
