    EAST GERMANY YESTERDAY (SUNDAY) DOMINATED EARLY EVENTS IN THE EUROPEAN WOMEN'S ROWING CHAMPIONSHIPS BEING CONTESTED ON THE 1936 OLYMPIC REGATTA TRACK IN EAST BERLIN. THE HOME-TEAM WON THE SINGLE SCULLS (SKIFFS) THEN NOTCHED ANOTHER VICTORY IN THE DOUBLE SCULLS.

    TWELVE COUNTRIES TOOK PART IN THE CHAMPIONSHIPS WHICH COMPRISED FIVE EVENTS.

    IN THE SINGLE SCULLS, ANITA KUHLKE OF EAST GERMANY RECORDED A SOUND WIN FROM RENEE CAMU OF FRANCE WITH THIRD PLACE GOING TO RENATE SIKA OF AUSTRIA.

    EAST GERMANY REPEATED THE PERFORMANCE IN THE DOUBLE SCULLS WITH GISELA JAEGER AND RITA SCHMIDT PROVING TOO STRONG FOR THE NETHERLANDS'S PAIR G.A. BAUER AND C.M. VAN DEN ENDE.

    THE RUSSIAN SCULLERS WERE NOT DISGRACED IN THE DOUBLE SCULLS AS EVGENIA VLASOVA AND TATYANA MARKVO FINISHED A CREDITABLE THIRD BEHIND THE EAST GERMAN AND DUTCH PAIRS.
