Background: A call for blood donors in the United Arab Emirates has met with a good response from the general public. The blood is intended for wounded Arab soldiers fighting against Israel in Egypt and Syria. Centres for taking blood have been set up in many large cities in the United Arab Emirates.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheik Khalifa Ben Zayed, and the Prime Minister of Abu Dhabi inaugurated the blood donor centre in their country recently by donating blood. Other leading Abu Dhabi officials also gave blood when the centre opened.
