En route home - the Queen and Prince Philip spent fifty-five minutes in Vancouver last night before taking off on the last leg of their flight back to London. About five-hundred people - of them standing in the rain - waved and cheered the royal couple disembarked from the aircraft, just after nine o'clock Pacific Time. They were greeted by the Lieutenant Governor, Mr. Pearkes, on behalf of the Federal Government, Premier Bennett for the provincial government, and Mayor Bill Rathie for Vancouver. The party was escorted into the terminal by a guard of red-coated R-C-M-P where they waited out the refuelling stopover.
