  • Description

Competitors from Italy and West Germany dominate the fourth round of the Europa Cup for grass skiing in Hampshire, U.K., on Sunday (17 August).

The site of the competition was the slopes of Butser Hill and the skiers were covering the 400 metres down the turf in around 30 seconds.

The two major events were the Giant Slalom and the European Team Parallel Slalom for the St. Bruno Cup.

Franco Kaiser of Italy won the individual slalom and West Germany won the tam's relay slalom....and the St. Bruno Cup, which they also won last year.

Grass skiing is fast growing as an international sport and competitors use normal ski sticks and boosts. The technique used is very similar to snow skiing, only the skis themselves are special.
