FLYING TO THE BATTLE AREA, CAMERAMEN SAW BODIES OF VIETCONG SCATTERED EVERYWHERE, MANY RIDDLED WITH BULLETS AND LYING NEAR THE BARBED-WIRE PERIMETER FENCE OF A GOVERNMENT OUTPOST.BOMB CRATERS IN THE AREA INDICATED THAT HEAVY STRAFING BY SOUTH VIETNAMESE AND AMERICAN PLANES HAD TAKEN PLACE.

BACK IN QUI NHON, GOVERNMENT TROOPS AND AMERICAN MILITARY ADVISERS WHO TOOK PART IN THE BATTLE WERE AWARDED GALLANTRY MEDALS BY GENERAL VINH LOC, COMMANDER OF VIETNAMESE MILITARY CORPS TWO.
