    A SPECIAL FASHION SHOW FOR THE QUEEN MOTHER WAS PUT ON TODAY (TUESDAY) AT THE ROYAL OPERA HOUSE, COVENT GARDEN, BY THE TEN MEMBERS OF THE INCORPORATED SOCIETY OF LONDON FASHION DESIGNERS. THE SOCIETY MEMBERS INCLUDE HARDY AMIES, JOHN CAVANAGH, NORMAN HARTNELL, AND RONALD PATTERSON.

    EACH DESIGNER HAD HIS MOST TYPICAL OUTFITS FOR SHOW THE QUEEN MOTHER, BEGINNING WITH A PARADE ON THE THEME OF "FORECAST FOR SPRING 1965". AMONG THE OUTFITS WERE THE FIRST "TROUSER SUITS" OF THE SEASON.

    JOHN CAVANAGH'S CREATIONS INCLUDED A TUNIC-DRESS IN BLACK WORSTED, WITH TRIMMED FRINGE. THE OVERCOAT WAS OF BASKET-WEAVE WOOL. THE HAT WAS A DESIGN BY REED CRAWFORD.

    THE QUEEN MOTHER ALSO SAW AN UNUSUAL TARTAN DRESS AND CAPE CALLED "HIGHLAND QUEEN." THE MAPLE LEAF TARTAN WAS DESIGNED BY THE CANADIAN GOVERNMENT.

    "CANTATA" -- BY ANOTHER SOCIETY MEMBER, ANGELE DELANGHE - WAS A LONG, PRINTED EVENING DRESS, WITH A BLACK VELVET EVENING COAT. ANOTHER MEMBER, LACHASSE, SHOWED A PINK, DRAPED EVENING DRESS WITH A LONG WHITE EVENING COAT.

    THE QUEEN MOTHER, WHO HERSELF WORE NAVY VELVET COAT, GREEN BROCADE DRESS, TRIPLE-STRAND PEARLS AND TOQUE HAT WITH FEATHERS, SAID LATER THAT SHE FOUND THE SHOW "ENCHANTING".
