The U.S. won the team title in the 3-day Canada Golf Cup at Portmarnock, Ireland, June 26, Sam Snead and Arnold Palmer totalling 565 for their four rounds. The win gave the Cup to the U.S. for the third time.
England were eight strokes behind with D.J.Hunt's 289 and H.Weetman's 284. Australia, Cup holders at the start, were third with P.Thomson and K.Nagle scoring 574.
Ireland were one behind with N.V. drew and C.O'Connor scoring 575 S.Africa's A.D.Locke and G.Player looked like winning in the early stages but faded into fifth place at 578.
