  • Description

There was a happy reunion Dec 25 at a prison near Cairo, United Arab Republic, when the family of James Zarb - the British subject imprisoned for 10 years in 1956 for alleged spying activities - arrived to spend their first Christmas with him in five years.

Last January, Zarb met his small son Gerald for the first time. He was born seven months after his father's arrest. His three daughters - Mary, Marlene and Annie - had not seen him since 1956.

It was arranged that Zarb - who presented his children with a manger he made in prison - would see his family every day until the end of the week.
