    A Royal Air Force four-jet Vulcan bomber flew the 3,645 miles from Washington to the R.A.F. station at Warham, Norfolk yesterday in six hours sixteen minutes, an average of 582 miles per hour.

    The co-pilot was Air Chief Harabal Sir Harry Broadhurst, C.-in-C. Bomber Command, who attended the Strategic Air Command's bombing competition in Florida, in which the Royal Air Force took part.

    In an interview with our reporter Ivor Jones Sir Harry defended the performance of the British team.........
