    At the sanitation department incinerator on 36th street and 12th Avenue in Manhattan, New York - boxes, suitcases and cans of Heroin, Maryuana, Cocaine and Codene, confiscated during the year in New York, were burned.

    Police property clerk Thomas Ross estimated the value to be about one million and forty thousand dollars. Heroin made up the greatest value at approximately 847,000 dollars with Opium valued at 112,000 dollars. Hundreds of hypodermic needles were destroyed also.

    The dope was under heavy guard from the police department.
