    Indonesian President Suharto completed two days of informal talks with Singapore Prime Minister Lee Kwan Yew, The substance of the discussions have been kept secret at the request of the two leaders.

    SYNOPSIS: President Suharto arrived in Singapore on Monday (17 September) by helicopter, after visiting the Indonesian island of Galand which has been converted into a refugee transit camp for more than 30,000.

    Immediately after his arrival, President Suharto was taken to the State Palace where be began talks with Prime Minister Lee, later over a friendly round of golf.

    Although there was no agenda for the meeting, official sources said the two men are thought to have exchanged Views on joint economic cooperation and the situation in Indochina.

    Its believed the two leader discussed ways of developing Indonesia's Batham Island, south of Singapore, as an industrial free trade zone.

    The talks are also thought to have centred on the outcome of the Non-Aligned Conference held in Hanava.

    The Suharto-Loo summit is the seventh in a series of ongoing discussions between the two leaders.

    Indonesian officials said that relations between the two countries were warm and cordial and there were no outstanding problems.
