Norway's Foreign Minister, Mr. Andreas Cappelen, has begun a five-day visit to Kenya. On Friday (5 May), Mr. Cappelen held talks with Kenyan government officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nairobi.
Foreign Minister Cappelen flaw into Nairobi on Thursday after finishing up a five-day study tour of Tanzania.
At an airport news conference the Foreign Minister said Norway would increase its aid to developing countries at a rate which would reach one per cent of its gross national product by the year 1978.
During his visit to the Foreign Ministry, Mr. Cappelen, held discussions with the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Burundi Nabwers. Kenya's Foreign Minister, Dr. N. Mungai, was unable to meet with Mr. Cappelen Because of an illness.
Later in his stay, Foreign Minister Cappelen will visit various Norwegian-assisted projects outside Nairobi.
