Background: Jordan's new Prime Minister, Mr. Ahmad Lawzi, told parliament in his first speech as Premier on Monday (27 Dec.) that Palestinian guerrilla activities should be confined to Israeli-occupied territories. Delivering a statement on policies which closely followed that of his predecessor Mr. Wasfi Tell, assassinated by guerrillas in Cairo in November, Mr. Lawzi said Jordan only supported "honest resistance" against Israeli occupying forces. Guerrilla activity which threatened the stability of Jordan would not be tolerated, he said.
