Pleasanthill, Missouri was especially hard hit by one vicious twister. AS 13-year-old boy was killed when a barn was knocked dow, Ten other were hurt when seven trailers were overturned and a total of 70 homes were smashed. At Leavenworth, Kanses, 75 homes were damaged, seven persons were hurt and the business section took a pounding. Three persons died in Garnett, Kansas, where cars and trucks were thrown about like toys. Another tornado skipped across Yorktown, Iowa, killing one person and injuring 28. Across Oklahoma, four persons died in traffic smashups as the wind whipped vehicles into each other. Another twister broke up several small buildings at Nebraska City,Nebraska. Meanwhile both Oklahoma and Northern Texas were plagued by server dust storms.
