Background: Soccer...and in paris R.S.C. Anderlecht of Belgium won the European Cup Winners Cup for the second time when they defeated Austria Wien by four goals to nil in Paris on Wednesday (3 May).. The Austrians' hopes were ended by a burst immediately before half-time, when Anderlecht scored two goals in 30 seconds.
SYNOPSIS: Austria Wien, in the white and playing from right to left to left, kicked off but almost immediately Anderlecht gained possession.
Most of the Austrian attacks were halted in mid-field and on this occasion anderlecht made a sudden break. following an Austrian corner.
However, it was Austria that had the first opportunity to score -from a free kick just outside the penalty area.
The Dutch star, Rob Rensenbrink, opened the scoring in the 14th minute for Anderlecht, after tapping home a cross from Danish striker Benny Nielsen.
With the first goal in the net Anderlecht began to dominate the game.
Rensenbrink takes a free-kick and judges his shot well to curl it past the wall for Anderlecht's second goal.
