    FOR THE BUSINESSMAN OF TOMORROW - THE BEAGLE B-206, A FIVE-SEAT AIR LIMOUSINE. A SPACIOUS CABIN, MADE IN FIVE VERSIONS TO SUIT ALL REQUIREMENTS, VAST LUGGAGE CAPACITY, INTEGRAL GANGWAY, EQUIPMENT FOR DAY AND NIGHT ALL-WEATHER OPERATION, A RANGE OF 1,000 MILES, AND A CRUISING SPEED OF 200MPH, ARE DESIGNED TO MAKE THIS AIRCRAFT HIGHLY COMPETITIVE IN THE WORLD MARKET FOR YEARS TO COME. A PROTOTYPE FIRST FLEW ON AUG 15, AND THE PROVISIONAL UK PRICE OF THE PRODUCTION MODEL IS A GIVEN AS "UNDER GBP30,000".

    FORERUNNER OF A BRITISH SUPERSONIC AIRLINER -THE HANDLEY PAGE 115, THE SINGLE-SEAT RESEARCH AIRCRAFT, WHICH MADE ITS MAIDEN FLIGHT ON AUG 17, WAS BUILT UNDER CONTRACT TO THE MINISTRY OF AVIATION. WITH A LENGTH OF 45FT AND A SPAN OF ONLY 20FT IT SPORTS THE WORLD'S BLENDEREST DELTA WING CONFIGURATION. POWERED BY A 2,000-LB THRUST TURBO-JET MOUNTED ATOP THE TAIL END, IT WILL BE USED TO STUDY THE HANDLING CHARACTERISTICS, STABILITY AND CONTROL TO BE EXPECTED FROM VERY HIGH SPEED AIRCRAFT OF THIS FORM AT THE LOW SPEEDS NECESSARY DURING TAKE-OFF, APPROACH AND LANDING.

    THE MISSILE DISPLAY INCLUDES BLUE WATER SURFACE-TO-SURFACE AND THUNDERBIRD SURFACE-TO-AIR MISSILES. THE ENGLISH ELECTRIC BLUE WATER, EQUIPPED WITH SOLID-FUEL MOTOR AND INERTIAL GUIDANCE SYSTEM, CAN BE MADE READY FOR FIRING AS QUICKLY AS A CONVENTIONAL GUN - IN ABOUT TEN MINUTES. THE THUNDERBIRD, ALSO PROPELLED BY A SOLID-FUEL MOTOR, SUPPORTED BY FOUR BOOSTER ROCKETS FOR LAUNCHING, IS THE BRITISH ARMY'S STANDARD HIGH AND LOW LEVEL AIR DEFENCE WEAPON. IT HAS BEEN IN SERVICE FOR OVER TWO YEARS.

    A FORMER MISSILE, THE BLUE STREAK, IS NOW TO FORM THE MAIN STAGE OF A EUROPEAN SPACE SATELLITE LAUNCHER. DEVELOPED AS AN INTERCONTINENTAL MISSILE BETWEEN 1955 AND 1960, IT WAS SCRAPPED AS A WEAPON IN FAVOUR OF SKYBOLT-CARRYING V-BOMBERS.

    FINALLY, A PILOTLESS TARGET AIRCRAFT - THE JINDIVIK 28. JINDIVIK IS CURRENTLY IN USE AT MISSILE RANGES IN THE UK, AUSTRALIA AND SWEDEN, AND HAS PLAYED AN IMPORTANT PART IN THE TESTING OF MANY DIFFERENT TYPES OF GUIDED WEAPONS.
