  • Description

The Vietnam pace talks, which failed to bring peace in two years of discussions, have now their scope as the parties take sides over the war in Laos . There was some bitterness in the exchanges at this, the 103rd session of the talks.

South Vietnamese National Liberation Front spokesman Madame Binh bitterly attacked President Nixon's recent warning that he will not restrict the use of American air power in Laos or Cambodia, and this line was strongly supported by the North Vietnamese.

North Vietnam's Suan Thuy accused the President of planning fresh military adventures against North Vietnam, and said this was a threat to China itself.

South Vietnam's Mr. Lam stressed that his country' s invasion of Laos was not concerned with attacking the people of Laos, but merely with cutting the supply-line to the Vietnam war of the Ho Chi Minh Trail.
