  • Description

Last week's death riots in Mexico City happened when left-wing student demonstrators were attacked by a right-wing group -- reported to be members of a semi-official para-military organisation co-operating with police. According to on-the-spot reporters, the right-wing elements were armed with machine guns, rifles and bamboo sticks -- and acted in full view of regular police who did nothing to avert either the clash or the subsequent killings. This film follows up the riot with an attempt to establish the background to it, and shows interviews with University of Mexico students and Mexican President Luis Echeveria, who denied that the right-wing group were Government police of any sort.
