    FRIDAY WAS AN IMPORTANT DAY FOR SIX HUNDRED YOUNG TANZANIAN SOLDIERS.IT MARKED THE END OF THEIR SPECIAL COURSE IN MILITARY TRAINING - AND IT WAS CELEBRATED BY A PASSING-OUT PARADE AT THE NATIONAL STADIUM IN DAR ES SALAAM.GUESTS AT THE PARADE WERE THE VICE PRESIDENT OF TANZANIA, MR.RASHIDI KAWAWA, AND THE VISITING SUDAN PRIME MINISTER, MR.MAGHOUB.

    AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE CEREMONY WAS THE TAKING OF THE OATH OF ALLEGIANCE.EACH SOLDIER RAISED HIS HAND AND SWORE LOYALTY TO THE TANZANIAN NATION.

    MR.KAWAWA INSPECTED THE TROOPS - DRAWN UP IN STRAIGHT ROWS ACROSS THE HUGE STADIUM.FROM THE PUBLIC STANDS CANADIAN EXPERTS WHO HAVE BEEN RESPONSIBLE FOR TRAINING AND ADVISING THE TROOPS WATCHED THE PROCEEDINGS.ALSO PRESENT WERE A GROUP OF OBSERVERS FROM THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA WHO TOOK PART IN TRAINING THE MEN IN WEAPON HANDLING.

    THE PARADE WAS CLIMAXED BY A MASS MARCH-PAST BY THE TROOPS.MR.KAWAWA AND MR.MAGHOUB TOOK THE SALUTE.
