M. Philippe Yace, President of the National Assembly of the Ivory Coast continued his official visit to Taiwan on Wednesday with a tour of the National Palace Museum before inspecting an agricultural machine company. M. Yace's visit comes at a time when representatives of 21 African nations are winding up a five month seminar they have been attending. The conference is designed to improve agricultural standards in their countries.
M. Yace arrived in Taiwan on June 1st for an eight day visit. He is accompanied by his wife and party of eight. Included in the member are agricultural advisers who will meet the Ivory Coast's representative at the seminar and discuss ideas they have formed.
Agriculture will be the major issue during M. Yace's visit. Rice production in his country has reached 100,000 tons a year and the Ivory Coast hopes t be self-sufficient in rice in five years. Methods used in Taiwan will be of particular interest to the visitors.
