    A SIT-DOWN STRIKE OUTSIDE THE DUBLIN DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE ENDED YESTERDAY'S HUGE FARMERS' DEMONSTRATION. SOME 10,000 FARMERS HAD BROUGHT THEIR GRIEVANCES TO THE AGRICULTURAL DEPARTMENT, AND WHEN THE MINISTER REFUSED TO MEET A DEPUTATION SOME FARMERS SQUATTED ON THE STEPS OF THE BUILDING AND DECLARED THEY WOULD STAY THERE UNTIL THEY HAD SEEN AGRICULTURAL MINISTER, MR CHARLES HCUGHEY.

    THIS MORNING (THURSDAY) THE FARMERS WERE STILL OUTSIDE THE BUILDING AND THERE THEY SAT ALL DAY. THE MINISTER WASN'T SEEN TO ARRIVE AT HIS OFFICES AND THE SITUATION TONIGHT REMAIN AS IT DID LAST NIGHT.
