The West German Chancellor, Dr. Konrad Adenauer, flanked by advisers, arrived at the White House Apr 12, and was quickly led into President Kennedy's office.
The President and Dr. Adenauer conferred for 90 minutes on ways of achieving greater unity in the North Atlantic Alliance. Also at the meeting were Secretary of State Dean Rusk, and West Germany's Foreign Minister, Dr. Heinrich Von Brentano.
After the session, the first of what is to be a series of conferences. White House Press Secretary Pierre Salinger told newsmen:
