    DELEGATE: "We sincerely hope that restrictive measures will be taken against these regrettable acts through the United Nations and other appropriate forums. Mr. President, on the other hand, the role which the United Nations is expected to play in the world today should not be confined to such a passive one and the prevention of outbreaks and the spread of conflict. In the past few years, my country has repeatedly stressed in this assembly hall the importance of this struggle for peace, that the U.N. will implement the measures it pledges itself to in UNCTAD Three -- including such measures as the attainment of the target bringing official development assistance to (indistinct) per cent of its gross national product, the improvement of conditions and the terms of such assistance, the promotion of (indistinct) in general, and the improvement of the general scheme of preferences. My country determines to co-operate positively, in solving the many problems which (indistinct) left unresolved.
