The Prime Minister of the People's Democratic Republic of Yemen, Mr. Ali Nasser Mohammad, has completed a four-day visit to China. While there the South Yemeni leader held talks with the Chairman of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee, Hua Kuo-feng.
SYNOPSIS: Prime Minister Mohammed was visiting Peking with a delegation of ministers as the guest of the Chinese Government. His meeting with Chairman Hua Kuo-feng, Premier of the State Council, followed a special banquet held in the visitor's honour the previous evening. Mr Mohammed's delegation included his ministers of Health, Construction and Trade and Supply. The visiting Prime Minister told Chairman Hua Kuo-feng his country was grateful to the Chinese government for the backing and support they have extended during the past 10 years. He said South Yemen would continue to support the leadership of the Palestine Liberation Organisation for the elimination of Israeli occupation of Arab lands. Concerning the situation in the Horn of Africa, Mr Mohammed said he favoured democratic and peaceful solutions to the disputes between the states involved -- Ethiopia and Somalia. Chairman Hua said that, since World War II,Africa had largely worken up by "hegemonist and imperialist nations" had not reconciled themselves to the fact.
The Chinese leader told Mr Mohammed the trend in African and Arab countries would be for people to become more aware and further united to run their struggles. He said African peoples and the Arab people would become masters of their own countries and solve their own problems because this trend could not be resisted.
