    The village birthplace in Holland of Abel Tasman - whose name looms large in the history of Australia - received a visit today (Tuesday) from the Australian Ambassador to Holland, Mr. C. T. Moodie, and the Tasmanian Agent General in London, Mr. A. J. White. They had come to the village, Lutjegast, to thank its people for their help to the victims of the recent bushfire in the Australian island-State of Tasmania.

    During their, the Australian diplomats were received by the burgemaster, presented gifts to Lutjegast, and looked over village where Abel Tasman was born in 1603 in a house for poor people. The house has vanished but the church which owned it still stands.
