Yugoslavia has organised a big display of its consumer goods at an exhibition in Abidjan this week. The object of "Yugoslavian Week" is to correct an existing imbalance of trade and encourage Ivorian businessmen to think Yugoslavian when importing goods.
At the opening of the exhibition on Wednesday (December 12), Yugoslavian Foreign Trade Minister Mr. Petar Kostic referred to the trade imbalance. He declared that in the first nine months of this year his country had received Ivorian imports worth 4 1/2 million dollars, while exporting only 600,000 dollars worth of goods to the Ivory-Coast. Mr. Kostic conducted the Ivory Coast Secretary of State for Budget, Mr. Abdoulays Kone, round the exhibition which included a variety of household goods and clothing.
