    6.
Looking through a marble-carved window as a bullock cart wends its slow way along the road. The intricacy and delicacy of this carved marble work is almost beyond comprehension

Frantic efforts were made to remove the "Police" flag from this car and replace it by the Royal Standard, which, unfortunately would not fit the flagstaff on the Police car. Philip kept saying "It really doesn't matter", while officials kept fumbling and fussing, and he finally drives off without the Royal Standard flying at the mast.

    10.
Crowd of eager sightseers waiting for the Duke's arrival at historic old Shalimar Gardens, as guests begin to arrive

    11.

Here chairs and tables have been arranged for most distinguished guests: a moulvi recites a quotation from the Koran, the speech of welcome by the Mayor (copy enclosed), and a brief reply from Philip - ad libbed. The weather was threatening and, during the proceedings a few drops of rain fell and efforts were made to provide him with an umbrella, which he spurned, saying the inclement weather was more than offset by the warm welcome which the Citizens of Lahore had given him.
