There are many variants of the Canberra aircraft still in service with the Royal Air Force, all powered by two Rolls Royce Avon turbojet engines. The Canberra was the RAF's first jet bomber, the latest version of which, the PR9, is a photo-reconnaissance aircraft intended for long range sorties at extreme altitudes, carrying special camera and radio equipment. Other versions can carry four 20 mm guns under the fuselage, rockets and guided missiles.
