    PRESIDENT JOSEPH MOBUTU OF CONGO-KINSHASA, WAS A SPECIAL GUEST AT THE PATRON SAINT'S DAY OF THE CONVENT OF THE SISTERS OF ST. THERESE IN KINSHASA. PRESIDENT MOBUTU AND MADAME MOBUTU WERE WELCOMED BY MONSIGNEUR MALULA, WHO FOUNDED THE CONVENT IN 1964.

    THE CONVENT IS IN THE LIMETE DISTRICT OF KINSHASA. THE PRESIDENT AND MADAME MOBUTU HAD EARLIER SHOWN MUCH INTEREST IN THE CONVENT AND WERE INVITED TO BE GUESTS AT SPECIAL CEREMONIES ON THE DAY OF ITS PATRON SAINT. MONSIGNEUR MALULA, WHO IS ALSO THE ARCHBISHOP OF KINSHASA, THANKED PRESIDENT MOBUTU AND HIS WIFE FOR THEIR INCREASED INTEREST IN THE INSTITUTION.

    THERE ARE 24 POSTULANTS AT THE CONVENT AND ONE OF THEM EXPLAINED ITS AIMS FOR THE PROMOTION OF CONGOLESE WOMEN IN AFRICAN RELIGIOUS LIFE. PRESIDENT MOBUTU SAID HE HOPED FOR A RAPID DEVELOPMENT FOR THE CONVENT AND ASSURED THE INSTITUTION OF CONTINUED MORAL AND MATERIAL SUPPORT.
