    Seven workmen, completing the construction of a 1,300 foot (400 metre) television tower at St Paul, Minnesota, were killed yesterday (Tuesday) when the structure collapsed, demolishing part of a transmitter building at its base. The dead men had been working at the top of the tower, which was due for completion in about three weeks. Rescue workers found two in injured men in the building in the base of the tower.

    SYNOPSIS: The collapse of a new television tower near St. Paul. Minnesota, killed seven workmen and injured tow on Tuesday. The men who died had been working near the top of the thirteen-hundred foot tower. The injured were found in a transmitter station at the base of the tower, which was due for completion in about three weeks. Several of the victims were buried beneath tons of steel and wire. Three television stations, which had been transmitted from temporary aerials attached to the tower, were put out of action for a brief period. The cause of the tower's collapse was not immediately known.
