The government of the Central African Republic has renamed a square and one of its main streets in the capital, Bangui, after the Franch President Valery Giscard d' Easting.

The honour was conferred on the French President to commemorate his visit to the capital earlier this month.

President Giscard d'Estaing met nine heads of state from French speaking African countries and discussed various problems including the international monetary system. And the African leaders gave the French President their approval for the coming meeting between oil consumers and producers.
