The Commissioner-general of the Boycott Office, Mr. Mohammed Mahjoub, said the Arab boycott against Israel was, and would continue to bean effective weapon against the development of Israel's economy and industry.

Background: The Arab League Boycott office against I??? ael met in Baghdad, the Iraqi capital on Monday (18 October) to discuss efforts to maintain the Arab boycott of Israel.
SYNOPSIS: The meeting, at the Foreign Affairs Ministry, was opened by the Iraqi Foreign Trade Minister, Mr. Hikmat Ibraheem. Mr. Ibraheem said the Arab nations' energies were enough to overcome Israel if they were well used within a unified Arab stand. Delegates from 17 Arab countries attended the meeting.
Topics discussed included measures to counter Israeli schemes aimed at avoiding the boycott, and ways of combating Israeli activities in the United States. The conference also discussed requests from companies of various nationalities to life the Arab embargo over them, since they had severed their relations with Israel. It was the 40th meeting of the boycott office.
