The Ivory coast Ambassador in Paris, M.Appagny Tanoe, today (Thursday) handed out decorations of the Ivory Coast National Order to several French personalities at a ceremony at the Embassy in Paris.
Paying tribute to those who were receiving the medals -- five Commanders, 23 Officers and six Chevaliers -- for their services to his country, M.Tanoe declared that they had been "true to the ideals of a sincere and brotherly co-operation".
He said those decorated had given the best of themselves to promote a nation which hopes to bring to the world its modest contribution towards the establishment of a peaceful world where man may live free from racial, religious or any other prejudices.
The French Ambassador to the Ivory Coast, M. Raymond Offroy, who was made a Commander, answered the address by paying tribute to the work of Ivory Coast President Houphouet-Boigny and his close co-operation with France.
