    Background: VISNEWS June 28 filmed the international 'Grand Prix of Monza' for tourist cars, at the Monza National autodrome, Italy.

    Three-litre Ferrari cars filled the first three Places. American Alfonso Thiele-first; Italian Carlo Mario Abbate-second and Belgian Willy Mairesse-third.

    Organised by the Automobile Club of Milan, the race consisted of 52 laps.. a total distance of 299 km. The competition is open to cars in the Grand Touring category. They should be normal production cars, without limitation on cylinder capacity, and must comply with the recommendations in appendix "J" of the International Sporting Code.

    Two Italian drivers - Antonio Crivellari and Andrea Pinazzi - died in Monza Hospital after their cars, and another, collided at a bend.
