    THE ENTENTE COUNCIL MEETING IN ABIDJAN ON FRIDAY ADOPTED A REPORT ON THE ACTIVITIES OF THE COUNCIL'S MUTUAL AID AND GUARANTEE FUND. PRESIDENT CHRISTOPHE SOGLO OF DAHOMEY AND LEADERS OF THE OTHER COUNTRIES MAKING UP THE FIVE-NATION COUNCIL, A POLITICAL ASSOCIATION OF FRENCH- SPEAKING AFRICAN STATES, ARRIVED ON THURSDAY.

    THE FUND WAS ESTABLISHED TO ENABLE THE FIVE COUNTRIES TO RAISE LOANS ON BETTER TERMS FOR DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS.

    THE COUNCIL ALSO STUDIED THE QUESTION OF APPLICATION OF THE AFRICAN AND MALAGASY SUGAR AGREEMENT, AND TOGO'S ADDITION TO THE 12 COUNTRIES WHICH ARE PARTNERS IN THE MULTI-NATIONAL AIRLINE AFRIQUE.

    THE ANNOUNCEMENT ISSUED AT THE CLOSE OF FRIDAY'S MEETING ALSO ADDED THAT THE ENTENTE HEADS OF STATE LEARNED WITH "PROFOUND INDIGNATION" OF WEDNESDAY'S ATTEMPT TO ASSASSINATE PRESIDENT LEOPOLD-SEDAR SENGHOR OF SENEGAL.

    PRESIDENT SOGLO WAS MET AT THE AIRPORT BY THE IVORY COAST'S MINISTER OF TRANSPORT AND PUBLIC WORKS, M. ALCIDE KACOU, REPRESENTING PRESIDENT FELIX HOUPHOUET-BOIGNY.

    MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL ARE: IVORY COAST, NIGER, DAHOMEY, UPPER VOLTA AND TOGO.
