    A 31-MEMBER NATIONAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE WAS OFFICIALLY INAUGURATED IN ACCRA YESTERDAY (TUESDAY) BY THE GHANAIAN MILITARY RULER, LIEUTENANT-GENERAL JOSEPH ANKRAH. THE NEW COMMITTEE -- THE HIGHEST BODY OF THE GOVERNING NATIONAL LIBERATION COUNCIL -- TAKES OVER THE FUNCTIONS OF ALL OTHER ADVISORY COMMITTEES EXCEPT THE ECONOMIC, ADMINISTRATIVE, EXPEDITING AND LOGISTICS COMMITTEES.

    GENERAL ANKRAH ANNOUNCED THE NAMES OF THE NEW COMMITTEE MEMBERS IN THE CASTLE, THE GHANAIAN SEAT OF GOVERNMENT.

    DR. K.A. BUSIA IS THE CHAIRMAN AND NENE AZZU MATE-KOLE THE NEW VICE-CHAIRMAN. DR. BUSIA IS A FORMER CHAIRMAN OF THE NLC POLITICAL COMMITTEE.

    THE COMMITTEE ALSO INCLUDES THREE WOMEN, SEVERAL UNIVERSITY PROFESSORS AND RECENTLY APPOINTED COMMISSIONERS.

    GENERAL ANKRAH WELCOMED THE COMMITTEE MEMBERS WITH A BRIEF SPEECH.
