The meeting will start at 10.30 a.m. on Monday July 26 in the Council Chamber at the Commonwealth Relations Office. The Prime Minister will give a working lunch party at 10 Downing Street on the same day.

Background: In accordance with the arrangement announced when the Taoiseach, Mr.Lemass came to London on 5 November, 1964, British and Irish officials have been examining the possibilities of improving the permanent trading relations between the two countries.These discussions have since been taking place, and a fair amount of progress has been made.Mr.Lemass will come to London with his Minister of Finance, Mr.J.Lynch, his Minister for Industry and Commerce Dr.P.J.Hillery, and his Minister of Agriculture Mr.C.Haughey, for discussions with British Ministers on Monday 26 July for a new Trade Treaty.
In addition to the Prime Minister, the British Minister taking part in the talks will include Mr.Arthur Bottomley, Commonwealth Secretary, Mr.F.Peart, Minister of Agriculture, Mr.E.Redhead, Minister of State, Board of Trade, and Mr.A.Albu, Minister of State, Department of Economic Affairs.
