THE ANNIVERSARY OF 'OPERATION JOCK SCOTT", AS THE BRITISH CALLED IT, WAS CELEBRATED WITH MICH GAIETY AND ENDED WITH THE KENYAN CABINET SINGING THE KENYA AFRICAN NATIONAL UNION'S "KANU SONG".

DANCERS AND SINGERS FROM EVERY PART OF KENYA CAME TO CHANT AND SING THEIR PRAISE OF PRESIDENT KENYATTA, WHO WAS JAILED FOR SEVEN YEARS WITH HARD LABOUR BY THE BRITISH, AT TIMES THE CROWD WAS SO BIG AND UNRULY IT ALMOST GOT OUT OF HAND AND THE POLICE HAD TO USE A CERTAIN AMOUNT TO FORCE TO KEEP CONTROL -- BUT IT WAS GOOD NATURED AND NO DAMAGE WAS DONE TO PROPERTY OR LIMB. AFTER PRESIDENT KENYATTA HAD ADDRESSED THE CROWD IN SWAHILI, AND THE CROWD HAD CHEERED ITSELF HOARSE, MEMBERS OF THE CABINET SANG THE "KANU SONG" LUSTILY.
