Background: The right wing newspaper Minute was the target of a bomb blast in Paris on August 19. The explosion badly damaged the building where the newspaper has its offices but caused no casualties. Police believe the bomb was planted on a ground floor window ledge of the building in Avenue Marceau, North West Paris. Responsibility for the blast was claimed by the left wing group, Action Directe, which had just been officially banned by the Government. Action Directe has said it was responsible for a number of anti-Jewish attacks in Paris.
