  • Description

THE JAPANESE AIRLINES HIJACKED BY NINE SWORD-SWINGING STUDENTS NEARLY A WEEK AGO TOUCHED DOWN AT TOKYO AIRPORT ON SUNDAY (5 APRIL) AFTER A FLIGHT FROM NORTH KOREA.

ON BOARD OF THE BOEING WAS A JAPANESE MINISTER WHO SURRENDERED HIMSELF TO THE HIJACKERS AS A HOSTAGE IN SEOUL ON FRIDAY, THE PILOT CAPTAIN SHINJI ISHIDA, AND TWO CREW MEMBERS. THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN FIVE YEARS AND ONE-AND-A-HALF HOURS AFTER BEING SEIZED IN THE SKY OVER JAPAN AT THE START OF THE MOST SENSATIONAL JACKING EVER.

ALL FOUR MEN LOOKED FIT AND SMILED BROADLY AS THE LEFT THE JET TO THE APPLAUSE AND CHEERS OF WAITING GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND SPECTATORS.

LATER THE DEPUTY TRANSPORT MINISTER SHINJIRO YAMAMURA, THE HOSTAGE, APPEARED AT THE AIRCRAFT DOOR TO THE SHOUTS OF A WELCOMING CROWD. HE TOLD NEWSMEN THAT THE NORTH KOREANS HAD QUESTIONED THE HIJACKERS, THE CREW AND HIMSELF WHEN THE JET REACHED PYONGYANG AND THEN HAD THROWN A PARTY FOR THEM AND THE HIJACKERS.

HE ADDED THAT HE DID NOT KNOW HOW THE STUDENT HIJACKERS WOULD BE TREATED.
