    Eleven provinces were seen during nineteen days; everywhere loyal crowds gathered to revere this first sight of their reigning monarch; Buddhist monks were there, impassively acknowledging the Royal couple.

    In this country of contrasts the economy can be said to rest squarely on the back of the elephant, as the only complete method of transport in the remote timber yielding forests. A parade of elephants was therefore an appropriate sight for their Majesties in the province of Pres.
