SENATOR KENNEDY WHO ARRIVED FROM BRITAIN YESTERDAY ON A THREE-DAY VISIT, WAS SPEAKING AFTER AN HOUR'S MEETING WITH THE FRENCH FOREIGN MINISTER, MAURICE COUVE DE MURVILLE.

    AFTER THE MEETING, SENATOR KENNEDY TOLD NEWSMEN: "I THINK FRANCE HAS VITAL AND SIGNIFICANT ROLE TO PLAY IN EFFORTS OF TRYING TO FIND A PEACEFUL SOLUTION TO THE STRUGGLE IN VIETNAM."
    ON HIS ARRIVAL IN FRANCE, THE SENATOR SAID THERE WERE SIGNS OF A CHANGE IN HANOI'S POSITION, AND THAT THE NEXT THREE TO FOUR WEEKS WOULD BE "CRITICAL AND CRUCIAL."
    TOMORROW SENATOR KENNEDY IS SCHEDULED TO MEET PRESIDENT DE GAULLE AND M. PIERRE MENDES FRANCE, WHO NEGOTIATED THE INDO-CHINA WAR SETTLEMENT IN GENEVA WHEN HE WAS PRIME MINISTER.
