On a foggy London day fashion designer Mary Quant shows off her Spring and Summer collection for next year. At one time an estimated seven million women throughout the world had a Quant label in their wardrobe, and the new collection looks like keeping the figures high....there seems to be something for everyone. Thigh-high mini-dresses...full length demure dresses, albeit with low cut cleavage.... fine cotton knits....neat waistcoats...toddy-girl slacks and pretty floral print dresses..all are included in what the woman in your life will be wearing next year...according to Quant.
SYNOPSIS: A foggy Autumn day...but fashion designer Mary Quant brought Spring and Summer to a London park with her '73 collection.
This is "Lindy Loo", a print cotton long dress with cross-over top, puff sleeves and a filled shirt.
A touch of the Charleston for a creation aptly named "Wow". For the technically-minded, it's a halter necked lurex knitted dress.
...this is "Shoe Fly Pie"...a silky denim bra top with the long-leg cotton denim look below. Quant offered something for every woman, but the favourite look seems to be puff-ball sleeves and a brief frill skirt...often in pretty cottons. And some folk really enjoyed the free show.
For the trouser suit fans..this is "Lord Dick". black satin trousers with a geometric print shirt.
And to end this brief look at next year's fashion,s here's "Ring a Rosio" a liberty print cotton sun dress with halter neck and matching frilly knickers.
