Background: A decade of civil war and famine, means that Cambodian women who form an
estimated 75 per cent of the population, play an important role in the
    economy.

In textile factories women are operating machines handled by men in the past
,and in this particular textile factory 72 per cent of the work force are women.

Factories are government owned and the authorities insist on employees
working long hours to meet the nations needs.

Women also work in factories making metal work and goods such as
shovels and other equipment needed for agriculture and other
    industries.
