At a news conference on friday (September 14), they announced agreement to campaign for a single common voting roll for all races -- eliminating racial discrimination.
Friday's agreement follows five meetings between the two organisations over the past six weeks. At the news conference Mr. Edso Sithole, publicity secretary for the African National Council, said the agreement was historic because a European and African organisation had joined together to issue a joint statement on the problems of the country.

The spokesman for the Rhodesia Party, Dr. Morris Hirsch, said he did not know how long it would take to produce a full Constitutional framework:
