    REDMAN, RIDING A JAPANESE HONDA, WON AFTER A DRAMATIC TUSSLE WITH THE ITALIAN GIACOMO AGOSTINI ON AN MV AGUSTA. BEFORE THE RACE THE TWO MEN TIED AT THE HEAD OF THE 350 c.c. WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TABLE WITH 16 POINTS EACH.

    AGOSTINI LED FOR 14 OF THE 18 LAP RACE AND RAISED THE LAP RECORD FROM 165.23 KILOMETRE AN HOUR (102.67 MPH) TO 167.440 KPH (104.08 MPH), BEFORE RETIRING WITH ENGINE TROUBLE.

    MIKE HAILWOOD OF BRITAIN, WHO LEADS THE 500 c.c. WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TABLE ALSO HAD TROUBLE WITH HIS MV AGUSTA AND LOST HALF A MINUTE BEFORE GETTING INTO THE RACE.

    SECOND PLACE WENT TO DEREK WOODMAN OF BRITAIN RIDING AN MZ. HE WAS ONE LAP BEHIND REDMAN. GUSTAV HAVEL OF CZECHOSLOVAKIA WAS THIRD ON A JAVA, AND ANOTHER CZECH, FRANCISE STASTANY ALSO ON A JAVA, WAS FOURTH.

    REDMAN NOW DOMINATES THE CHAMPIONSHIP TABLE WITH 24 POINTS. AGOSTINI HAS 16 AND HAILWOOD 12.
