KAUNDA: "As we all know comrades we are dealing with some of the most savage people that we have ever come across-real savages. Background: Zambian President, Dr. kenneth kaunda, has come out with a stinging attack against the government of Zimbabwe Rhodesia. Dr. Kaunda, who has just returned from the Non-Aligned conference in Havana, told a news conference in Lusaka, that the Zimbabwe Rhodesia conflict was hampering efforts to develop Zambia. He said that Zambia's heavy defence spending was crippling other areas of the economy.
